Leslie - that is fantastic news. I am currently awaiting delivery of parts for my own htpc wihich I was going to set up using mediaportal. If I can use the FireDTV-C in place of the dreadful PACE box Telewest supply and enjoy pure digital signals from cable to screen then a FireDTV will be my very next purchase. Expect a PM from me shortly asking for help!
As I also have several Macs I will report on whether I have any joy with the FireDTV and my Mac, but common sense would indicate that a firewire solution ought to work pretty well with a Mac... although getting the Mac to use the channel info might require some hacking in iTele or similar.
